Michelle Violy Harper
What would the title of your autobiography be?
“Take a Deep Breath, We’re Going on a Fabulous Ride”
What can’t you travel without and why?
Photos of my family, Tata Harper Floral Hydrating Mist for the plane, my favorite Alexa Rodulfo candle Bois Nu for my home / room when I land, pijamas and a kimono I have had forever from my late friend fernando sanchez, my custom InFiore solid perfume and my custom made perfect red lipstick by cosmetic genius Darac. I like to carry special items from people I love when I am far from home.
Where is your favorite travel destination?
There are so many, I have been very blessed to travel extensively, but right now I will just name what comes to mind, which is Kyoto during prime Cherry Blossom season. The flowers, food, festivals, joyful energy, dance, theater, and true geisha all encompass the highest levels of sophistication and beauty. I always stay with a close friend – tourism breaks with the fluid beauty of Kyoto in full Sakura season. Enjoying family time with locals & regional/seasonal traditions make this place that much more unique and special. I recommend trying to stay with a family rather than a hotel.
If you could choose one person to show you “their New York City,” who would it be and why?
Andy Warhol. Too bad he’s not around anymore!
What or who has inspired you recently and why?
The kindness of human beings, humor, the ability to laugh, love, empathize, and help, is and will always be my greatest inspiration.
