Liz Vap was working with legendary rock ‘n’ roll photographer Mick Rock at the age of 13 as a make-up artist for various music acts. Vap decided to take a different creative direction after a few years of being accustomed to being around talent with Rock. She started art directing and designing music packaging and merchandise in her mid to late teens. Since her initial meeting with Rock, Vap has worked in various capacities with him ever since, including managing his creative affairs, along with Artist/Film director Floria Sigismondi (The Runaways). After her stint in management, she began organizing events in New York, London, and Los Angeles for her friends. After freelance consulting for a few years, Vap launched FeralCat Productions - a management and consultant Agency that produces creative events, launches, exhibitions and aids in the execution of branding campaigns for artists and global brands. Her well-known events bring together A-listers in fashion, music, art and film. She also brings emerging talent made-up of actors, musicians, DJ’s and socials to peoples attention by booking and/or casting them in various editorials, events and advertising campaigns.
WHAT WOULD THE TITLE OF YOUR AUTO-BIOGRAPHY BE?
“Look What The FeralCat Dragged In…”
WHAT CAN’T YOU TRAVEL WITHOUT AND WHY?
My phone, laptop, and ipod – all the things that make a mobile office. My bottle of Fracas perfume – I never leave home without it, and my Eddie Borgo nail ring. I lost it once and now I never take it off.
WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE TRAVEL DESTINATION?
Greece and any of the Greek Isles, New Orleans, London, Barcelona.
IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ONE PERSON TO SHOW YOU “THEIR NEW YORK CITY”, WHO WOULD IT BE?
WHAT OR WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU RECENTLY AND WHY?
My sister-in-law Lisa inspires me all the time. I call her often for this reason. She’s incredibly creative. I love how she can take ordinary objects and make them into something beautiful – she’s a true artist. She often makes me gifts, for example, on my birthday recently she gave me the most amazing shadowbox made out of all vintage materials. I treasure everything she gives me. And Betty White – she inspires me to know that at 90 you can still be witty, sassy & look fabulous.
