I was born in New York, raised in Indiana and then moved back to New York City to make my mark on the fashion industry. After graduating from New York University, I married my degrees in art history and journalism and began a career in public relations. After many endeavors to learn the basics of sewing, sketching and design, I turned to the world around me. Tapping my relationships with designers, trendsetters and editors, I laid the foundation for Giejo in the Spring of 2011.
IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ONE PERSON TO SHOW YOU “THEIR NEW YORK CITY,” WHO WOULD IT BE? Bill Cunningham – who could possibly know the secrets of NYC’s streets better? I would love to have him document the experience so I could treasure it forever!
WHAT OR WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU RECENTLY, AND WHY? My Mom!! She never gives up! She has taught me to work hard, stay focused on my vision and to follow my dreams.
WHAT CAN’T YOU TRAVEL WITHOUT AND WHY? My iPhone – I can’t image not being connected!
WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE TRAVEL DESTINATION? My parents have a house in St.Thomas – the view is magical (the house is on a cliff in the middle of the ocean) and really makes me appreciate the world around me. Living in NYC you forget about it sometimes – that there is a whole other world out there. Its the only place, I can take a deep breath and really let go.
WHAT WOULD THE TITLE OF YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY BE? Did this really just happen to me?
