Once a top stop on Andy Warhol’s agenda, often frequented by Marilyn Monroe, Bette Davis and Jackie O, and serving as the setting for several films (including the 2001 rom-com Serendipity), Serendipity 3 has never been a more delicious destiny than today. Tucked into a cozy brownstone in the Upper East Side, sweet-toothed patrons cozy up here at marble-topped, Tiffany-style, ice-cream-soda-parlor tables for comfort food with such cute names as the Catcher in the Rye (their own twist on the BLT, with chicken and Russian dressing—on rye, naturally), the Shake, Batter & Bowl (half a chicken, deep fried and oven roasted) and the Madame Butterfly Pasta (farfalle pasta with artichoke hearts, asparagus and sliced red peppers in a garlic cheese sauce). True aficionados swear by the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, a frosty version of everybody’s cold-weather favorite. Make it a point to swing by, as only fate would have it of course.
