Tucked away on Spring Street in Nolita, Mother’s Ruin has already earned serious watering-hole cred. With a star-studded line up of bartenders, the cocktail menu (a chalk board above the bar) is equally daring and exciting for drinking enthusiasts and industry folk alike. On the opposite wall you will find the food menu (served until 3:30AM) offering up some of the tastiest bar food including ginger glazed duck wings and mini merguez meatball grinders – perfect drink accompaniments. The décor is a romantic, Persian shabby with quaint French windows (that open out in Summer), blond wood booths, exposed brick and cream tin ceiling. Seating for only about 40 – it’s a cozy, unpretentious vibe.
Recommended drink: Carys Fizz (gin, cucumber, egg white, rose water and lemon) with fried chickpeas (winner of NYMag’s 2012 Best Bar Snack Award).
