John Derian may be world-known for his découpage pieces (i.e., collages of paper images cut from various sources, preserved under glass or lamination on plates and lamps), but his unassuming NoHo shop is one of the city’s most unique shopping experiences. This cozy and charming home-décor and knickknack shop transports you to another world – filled with a nice selection of Derian’s own découpage glassware, the shop also has antiques and accent furniture from around the world. The adjacent dry-goods store features covetable linens like delicately printed pillowcases and imported suzanis. Words don’t do John Derian justice – best to experience for yourself!
