The owners of Union Pool and the man behind the cocktails at Diner and Pencil Factory have brought an elegant cocktail spot to the Williamsburg neighborhood. Located on a postcard-pretty stretch of Berry Street, Hotel Delmano is at first stunning – you’d never know it used to be a tattoo parlor. It was never a hotel, and today it’s more like an old-timey palace. With its antique marble bar, leather banquettes, and 20-foot, cloud-painted ceiling, the cocktails more than match the interior: Mixologist Sam Anderson’s lengthy list of libations includes the Devil’s Garden (made from chipotle-infused mezcal), the San Francisco Handshake (thyme-infused gin, St. Germaine, Fernet), and the Rattlesnake (rye whiskey, absinthe, fresh lemon juice and egg white for froth), and even your bartender is dressed the part in a vest and bowler derby hat.  Reasonably-sized bar snacks are available (ceviche, chicken liver pâté, a cheese plate) and recommended to cushion the blow of the one-too-many delicious cocktails you are likely to enjoy.
