While located in Manhattan’s West Village, you’ll feel close to the Eiffel Tower with a hopelessly chic décor of vintage signs, mirrored columns, black and white checkered floors and antique chandeliers. Bistro-style outdoor seating is one of the most fitting places in the Apple for those lackadaisical, laissez-faire lunches. A café au lait the size of a fish bowl and a burger with gruyere on brioche, all goes seamlessly with the pommes frites, all offering that irresistible blend of what we like from both cities. Dinner offers standbys like Mussels Provençales and Steak au Poivre, but be sure to consider the Plat Du Jour. For dessert we recommend the Vahlrona, a dreamy, bittersweet chocolate mousse by definition, a sweet lullaby in our book. In the city that’s known for its “go, go, go”, it sure is comforting to know that there’s a lovely place to pause.
