This year marks the 20th anniversary of the HUGO BOSS PRIZE, an award granted for outstanding contribution to contemporary art. The prize is granted by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in New York and is one of the most coveted accolades in the art world.
The 2016 winner was Anicka Yi. Yi took a scientific approach to creating art that was intended to engage all of our senses, going beyond just sight. She created perishable work using bacteria and other materials as a "paint" medium.
Other artists that have been honored over the years include Matthew Barney, Tacita Dean and Hans-Peter Feldmann.
The exhibition will be on display at the Guggenheim from now until July 5th.
