Myriam Phiro is an internationally-recognized French-Canadian actress, jazz singer, dancer and cabaret chanteuse who has performed on stages and in theaters worldwide. A bi-lingual performer, she studied musical theatre performance at AMDA and then studied jazz with Barry Harris and Janis Siegel, voice and cabaret with Bill Zeffiro. Her influences run from Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Edith Piaf to Jane Monheit, Madeleine Peyroux, Chet Baker, Norah Jones, and Manhattan Transfer, and encompass the style and elegance of The Jazz Age of the 1920s, the energy and pizzazz of the Big Band Era, and the intimacy of the classic French music-hall, musical stories told with wit, flair, and poignancy.

Her performances feature jazz and French standards and the famous tunes of the Great American Songbook, and incorporate elements of swing dance, the Big Bands, and even bossa nova. She has appeared at many New York venues including 54 Below, The Rainbow Room, The Four Seasons, The Manderley Bar, The New York Botanical Garden, The Flatiron Room, Brasserie Julien, The Triad Theatre, Bar Urbo, and The Back Room Speakeasy, in Montreal at the House of Jazz, Cafe de la Pige, and The Montreal International Jazz Festival, and in Montreux, Switzerland at Harry’s New York Bar at The Montreux Palace Hotel where she had a month residency for 2 consecutive years.

After the warm reception given to her debut EP, “My Rêverie: Songs From the World of Myriam Phiro,” in 2013, she recorded her second CD, a full-length effort which focuses on elements of travel. The album was released on October 6th at famous NYC Jazz club “the Iridium” and considered “one of the best vocal Jazz album of the year” —Scott Albin

Though she is nowadays acclaimed for her silky voice and her unique renditions of classic masterpieces of Jazz and French chanson, Ms. Phiro’s performance history goes beyond the cabaret singer we all know. Through the years, she has toured several countries with theatrical productions (such as Macbeth with Morwax Productions, The Three Musketeers with Arts & Dance cie, etc), appeared in national commercials and TV series (Victoria’s Secret, the Desperate Housewives of NY, Target Ltd, etc), contributes in writing harmonies for the folk-rock band the Bliss Jockeys she’s been a back-up singer with since 2013 and collaborated as a dancer to many music videos, firedancing events and all that Jazz.
