MICHAEL GARIN is well into his 2nd year as House Pianist at the Roxy Hotel. His résumé includes The Monkey Bar, The Rainbow Room, The VIP Room at Limelight, The Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Elaine's. And at the legendary and sorely missed Elaine's, he held forth with dazzling vocalist Mardie Millit (a.k.a. Mrs. Garin) every Sunday night for the the last three years of the joint. He has accompanied the likes of Elaine Stritch, Nathan Lane, James Chance, and Jane Krakowski. A Drama Desk Award-winning composer/lyricist, he is currently writing music and lyrics for a stage adaptation of Ed Sorel's best-seller, Mary Astor's Purple Diary. MARDIE MILLIT is a native New Yorker. Unfortunately, she was born in Shadyside, Ohio. In the years since her escape, she has performed everything from opera to musical theatre to rock & roll on stages all over America. Her most recent stage appearance was as Joanne in a sold-out run of Sondheim’s Company at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. For the last twelve years, she has appeared with her on- and offstage partner, Michael Garin, bringing their one-of-a-kind fizzy cocktail of classic American and international popular songs to venues such as Joe’s Pub, 54 Below, the Rainbow Room, Birdland, Iridium, and most notably Elaine’s, the famed celebrity hot-spot, where Mardie was renowned for her late-night duets with TV and movie stars and even a former director of the CIA. Future projects include a program of obscure movie musical numbers at Urban Stages and starring as Desirée in A Little Night Music with Dream Productions. HASAN BAKR is a percussionist, singer and composer who found his first musical expressions in the tonal arts of the Drum. Hasan studied in the master-student disciplines for most of his adult life with such notables as Chief Bey,Babafeami, Nana Vasconcelos, Little Ray Romero, and Mbemba Bangoura. He is a 1998 Ethnic Dance Award Recipient, who has performed with a number of artists including The Winard Harper Sextet, Snow, Hassan Hakmoum, Zimbabwean Mbira Master Ephat Mujuru, Salieu Suso, Abdullah Ibrahim and Ekaya, The Meditations, and Veiux Diop, to name a few.
