Join us and our resident DJs Alix Brown & Kristin Gallegos for a night of great music and crafted cocktails.

DJ, musician and fashion muse Alix Brown was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia by music-loving parents. She played in bands and collected records growing up, and was soon attracted to the music scene in Memphis, Tennessee. There she had a 4-year stint playing in a band, touring the world and running Shattered Records with Jay Reatard in Memphis. After that, Alix decided to make the move to NYC. She immediately got a job at Academy Records in Brooklyn and began to play bass in Golden Triangle. The band gained great success, winning Battle of the Bands at SXSW, which led to being signed by the Sub Pop subsidiary, Hardly Art, and the band landing a song in an international BMW commercial. After the band went their own ways, Alix decided to do something else with music. Having worked in record stores growing up, Alix realized she had amassed thousands of records, a vast digital music library, and quite the jaw-dropping wardrobe. With such an impressive arsenal of pop culture artifacts, she began to pursue her career as a DJ and Music Director. Since then, she has landed increasingly more high profile DJ gigs at Don Hills, Kenmare, Paul’s Baby Grand, The Standard Hotel, weekly parties with co-DJ Tennessee Thomas at Soho Grand, Roxy Hotel, Hotel Chantelle; and parties for the likes of Levi’s, Target, Surfrider Foundation, Jill Stuart, Ralph Lauren, Helmut Lang, Pamela Love, Eddie Borgo, Pam Hogg, Alexa Chung and many more. She also is the Music Director for the Soho Grand Hotel, Roxy Hotel, and Jack Austin’s, where she curates their music playlists that are all different and unique to each space, books DJs, and live acts.

With her carefully developed taste for vintage sounds and style, it’s no wonder that she now wields an encyclopedic knowledge of rock n roll and fashion history.

Kristin Gallegos is a Photographer, Creative Director, Makeup Artist, and DJ based in New York City.

Born in Long Beach, California, Kristin spent her youth as a classical ballet dancer, dancing in major schools across the U.S. She had been interested in fashion and art from a young age. And after eight years of dancing decided to switch creative gears to pursue her love of beauty and fashion. Kristin decided to become a makeup artist. In 2004, she moved to New York City where she began assisting and working with top makeup artists. This training provided the essentials and allowed her to refine her own aesthetic. She has worked for over a decade as a leading artist, working with some of the worlds top companies, designers, celebrities, and photographers.

In late 2014, Kristin decided to pick up photography as a hobby and began shooting her friends as muses. That hobby very quickly developed into another career as a photographer. Brands and magazines began commissioning her. The 60’s and 70’s heavily influence her work. Her very specific retro aesthetic translates from her work as a makeup artist into her photography where she not only shoots the subject but also does the makeup, hair, styling, and creative direction. Kristin specializes in stylized nudes, portraits, and fashion editorials. She is completely self taught and shoots on film and various types of polaroid film exclusively.

Her work can be seen in Playboy, Teen Vogue, Purple.fr, Nylon Magazine, Cake Magazine, Galore Magazine, Sticks and Stones Agency, Another Filthy Magazine, Naked Magazine and So It Goes Magazine. And for companies like AG Hair, Volcom, Jill Stuart, The Elderstatesman, Samantha Pleet, Rollas Jeans, Zan Zan Eyewear, Stoned Immaculate, Sugarhigh Lovestoned, The Lovers and Drifters Club, Understated Leather, Veda, and CV-New York lingerie. In addition she had photos in a show at The Safari Gallery in NYC in the No Filter show in 2014. In 2016 had work in a show called Pillow Talk in London at The Palm Tree Gallery. And is part of the World Wide Women Collective.

Kristin is also a DJ that specializes in vinyl. She spins 60’s-90’s Rock and Roll, Soul, Disco, Punk, Post Punk, French 60’s Pop, Brit Pop, New Wave etc. She has played all over NYC and has regular gigs at Rose Bar at The Gramercy Park Hotel, Soho Grand Hotel, The Roxy Hotel, Le Bain, Boom Boom Room and Ludlow House amongst others.
