The legendary Florida Room, which is rumored to be closing by the end of the year, was ground zero for the Art Basel Miami THIS IS NEW YORK event. Tommy Saleh, the creative director behind GrandLife Hotels, teamed up with contemporary art and lifestyle magazine Whitewall and Sailor Jerry Rum to bring together the Art Basel nightlife dwellers. DJs Mandy Brooks, Mike Nouveau, “Get a Room”, and hosts Michael Benisty, Michael Klug, and Steven Rojas kept the eclectic mix or fashion, art, and nightlife revelers dancing till 6 am. Seen way past bedtime hours were Basel super stars like Mr. Brainwash, Adrien Brody, James Murphy, Aaron Young, Waris Ahluwalia, and Johan Lindeberg.
