FIVE FOR FRIDAY: THIS WEEK’S TOP VIMEOS
Bat For Lashes consistently puts out some of my favorite music videos and her latest for the tune “Lilies” does not fall short. It reminds me that sometimes trying new and different things can be scary at first. But when you get used to it, you realize that it kind of rules, just like having a bunch of monster pals to dance with rules.
Alex Goddard reveals to us in the video “The Future” that in the future, things are going to happen like, all the time and will hover a lot. I’m very excited for the future.
Brixton makes some rad clothes for skate and surf enthusiasts alike. In their Spring 2013 video they display their threads in action on small fun waves, empty pools, classic cars and house parties. These are the kind of vibes I can get behind.
Free People produced a short film entitled “Roshambo” to showcase clothes from their latest catalogue. It is a very nice tale of a romantic day in Brooklyn filled with lots of making out. It’s shot beautifully and scored by the band Lord Huron. Man though, that guy just cannot lose at roshambo! He went five for five! Either he was on quite the hot streak or was totally cheating with the classic slow draw. I’m onto him.
Keith Schofield tells a tale of unrequited love, told with stock footage in the music video for Darwin Deez’s latest tune “You can’t Be my girl”. It’s an amazingly clever and hilarious concept and is executed so well. Make sure to watch it to the end.
