As if being a successful model/actress wasn’t quite enough, France native Rebecca Dayan has now proven her chops as a wonderfully talented painter, too. Her exhibition at the Catherine Ahnell Gallery is her first solo show, and is 100% worth a visit. Friends Dree Hemingway, Lucien Smith, and more all came out for the exhibition launch on September 9.
The show was inspired by Dayan’s research for her upcoming role as a nun in ‘Novitiate’, during which she realized the parallels between a nun’s devotion to god and a young woman’s first love. The result is a series of beautiful watercolors comprised of rich colors and fragile lines, each emanating the deepest of female emotions Rebecca Dayan “Assumption,” runs through October 11 at Catherine Ahnell Gallery, 66 Grand Street, New York, NY 10013.
