Incredibly, Andrew Saffir has a way of outdoing himself every single time we pop by one of his Cinema Society screenings/soirees, and Friday night’s screening of The Oranges at our Tribeca Grand was no exception.
The Red Carpet burst at the seems with some of our favorite bold faced names from the past few decades including Hugh Laurie, Catherine Keener, Oliver Platt, and Allison Janney – accompanied by a (slightly) younger selection of Hollywood’s finest: Leighton Meester, Adam Brody and Alia Shawkat.
The film was sidesplittingly funny, provocatively genuine, and remarkably lovable to the point where we couldn’t help but express our enjoyment to nearly anyone who’d listen. We’re not saying that sitting next to the cast of the film during the screening influenced our enthusiasm, but it most certainly didn’t do much to hurt it.
