BOOKS: JUERGEN TELLER AT DASHWOOD BOOKS
Famed & notorious German born ‘bad boy’ photographer, Juergen Teller, will be in NYC this evening signing copies of his three latest titles which are due for release over the course of three months this year.
Published through German publisher Gerhard Steidl: Pictures and Text is now available; The Keys to the House in mid-June; and The Master III in July.
For information on the three books, check out the descriptions here.
Juergen Teller became a reluctant fashion icon, pioneering his signature ‘anti-glamor’ shots back in 1986.
His early photographs featured in underground magazines such as The Face, Purple, and I-D. Fashion editors were impressed by his direct and honest style, and his reputation quickly grew.
Teller has been working with Marc Jacobs on his advertising campaigns for the past 14 years and has also had long collaborations with other designers and fashion houses over the years including Helmut Lang, Comme des Garçons, Yves Saint Laurent and Vivienne Westwood.
Teller has snapped celebrities from the world of music & film like Elton John, BjÖrk, Charlotte Rampling, Kate Moss and Kurt Cobain (commissioned to take some shots of the then unknown band ‘Nirvana’ for their record ‘smells like teen spirit’).
Head to Dashwood Books at 33 Bond Street from 6-8 p.m this evening (Wednesday, 6th June 2012), to meet Juergen Teller and receive a signed copy or copies of the books.
